Brief Advice

Brief Opportunistic Advice can be delivered in a minute or two, and is focused mainly on giving professionals the skills to ASK, ADVISE and ASSIST on a range of health behaviours.

Brief Interventions usually use formal screening tools and take around 20 minutes to deliver.

Both need to be delivered with great communication skills....our training and coaching packages ensure that staff practise and then use their new skills and continue to do so.

Our training can supplement the NHS Every Contact Counts e -Learning Tool which supports professionals to use communication skills to deliver brief advice at every opportunity

Our Brief Advice training packages support and supplement ECC and can be delivered to:

  • GPs and Practice Nurses

  • Acute Care clinicians in areas such as Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Respiratory, Oral/Max, Surgical and Maternity wards, Pre-Op assessment and specialist OP clinics

  • Community Pharmacy

  • Dental Professionals

  • Community Workers and 3rd Sector workers

  • Health Trainers and Health Checkers

  • Social Workers and Mental Health Workers

  • Fire Service Workers

  • Ambulance Service Workers

  • Criminal Justice Workers, including Probation and Prison workers

  • Police Staff
